Abstract

The purposes of this paper are to lower the energy consumption in the wireless sensor network and to prolong network lifetime. Based on the maximum power a node can transmit, so we proposed multi-hop routing algorithm in this paper on the basis of gradients. Compared to Leach algorithm and Heed algorithm, the algorithm we proposed is 40% and 16% more efficient respectively in terms of Network Lifetime. We conducted a simulative experiment on the improved algorithm we proposed through MATLAB, and the results indicate that compared with LEACH algorithm and HEED algorithm, algorithm proposed we proposed is greatly improved in terms of network energy consumption and network life cycle.
