Abstract
The NOAA Data Buoy Office buoys provide vital meteorological and oceanographic reports from data-sparse marine areas. To provide a better understanding of the scope and potential of the buoy system, the buoy network, monitoring capabilities, real-time processing and dissemination, archival data quality and availability, and future programs are described. -Author
