Abstract

The dependence between the speed of an object that travels a given distance through the rain and the volume of water dumped on it by the raindrops is examined in this work. Considering a model based on the average distance between the raindrops, it is possible to obtain an analytical equation that expresses this dependence in terms of physical rain parameters. In order to verify our results a more realistic and sophisticated model considering the random nature of the raindrops distribution in the space was built. © by the Sociedade Brasileira de Fsíca.
