Percepción y conocimiento de los estudiantes universitarios de administración y dirección de empresas sobre el espacio Europeo de educación superior (EEES)

Abstract

The Sorbonne Declaration was a major step in a political process of building a European Higher Education Area. There is no doubt that this education reform has a direct effect on the entire university community and involves changes that often confound everyone. In this context, we consider the objectives of this work to study what university students know and think about everything concerning this process. To meet these objectives, we have worked with students enrolled in the studies of Business Administration of the Campus of Alcoy of the Universitat Politècnica de València. Regarding the results, we observed that 76% of the students pass the knowledge test and a relatively low final average mark of 5.58. Differentiating by courses, first course students have achieved the best marks compared to other courses; otherwise, students of last courses, which are still based on the old configuration of degree studies, generally have a more critical view of the process of implementation of the European Higher Education Area. The results of this work, in our opinion, imply the need to readjust the distribution and communication policies in order to achieve a more effective implementation of the European Higher Education Area.
