Imaginário e imigração nas redes sociais da Internet: o caso dos brasileiros em Portugal

Abstract

The research relies on the descriptive analysis of the functionality of virtual communities on the Internet Social Network used by Brazilian immigrants living in Portugal. The aim is to think on the Internet as a "cyberspace" where one can take ownership on the idea of building/rebuilding Brazilian identity, affect maintenance, social family, overcoming institutional discourse, interaction between the Brazilian and Portuguese nationalities and new cultural forms of online communication.
