Abstract

Introduction: It is extremely important in the sports field to anticipate different injuries, the most frequent being an ankle sprain. One of the most appropriate measures is to carry out proprioceptive training, since it increases stability and reduces different injuries. Objective: to analyze different articles on the result of proprioceptive training in the prevention of ankle sprain in athletes. Methodology: The corresponding study is retrospective, longitudinal and descriptive with a systematic review methodology of. Different articles published between 2013 and 2020 were evaluated. The search was on different websites such as: Google Academic, MedLine, Embase, Scielo and PubMed. Results: Sixteen articles were found that used proprioceptive exercises in the prevention of ankle sprain. Which were analyzed and described by the initial objective: (i) Ankle injuries, (ii) Proprioceptive training. Conclusion: From the different reviews it is necessary to include proprioceptive training to reduce ankle sprains and to have it as a means of prevention both in the sports field.
