Abstract

The article considers some aspects of the methodology of scientific research in architecture, the connection between architectural science and design practice. Systematic methods of studying and typological interpretation of multifunctional public service complexes - community centers are considered. The impact of scientific research on the needs of construction is analyzed based on the author's experience. A methodology for a systematic approach to design processes from urban planning to spatial planning solutions of public complexes is proposed. The author's theoretical developments during the period of active research in the structure of a state scientific institute and the author's own private practice are used. The use of systemic methods of designing public complexes allows us to draw the following conclusions: The rationality of the integrated functional structure of the center is based on the advantages of existing methods of functional unification of service objects and is their development. Formulated basic principles of the methodology of rational organization of the design process at all stages, taking into account economic, social, energy, urban and functional-typological factors Theoretical developments were implemented in the practice of experimental and competitive design, which is illustrated in the article by the author's works.
