Abstract

Platyobria gen. n. is described for 9 new species: P. lewisi (type species), P. adustalata, P. bordenensis, P. brevifoliae, P. capitata, P. cultrata, P. maddeni, P. minima and P. singularis. The host trees of all species are Eucalyptus spp. The nymphs of P. lewisi, P. adustalata and P. maddeni are described; those of the first 2 feed upon young succulent leaves and twigs and those of P. maddeni induce shallow pit galls in young leaves; nymphs of the other 6 species are unknown.
