While the solutions to rangeland degradation seems to rely on institutional changes, and particularly on tenure reforms, we are proposing in this paper a focus on the approach of "co-management" under the regime of common property rights. Based on the conclusions derived from a Moroccan case study, we examine the management tools that are available to local communities in order to successfully achieve a decentralized management of the rangelands.
