Abstract

This study addresses the evolving landscape of ophthalmology through the development and implementation of SIONDAL, a digital health information platform designed to assess and detect ophthalmologic deficiencies, particularly in color vision and visual acuity. To overcome the limitations of traditional physical tests-such as the Ishihara and Farnsworth-Munsell tests-a methodological approach based on the agile Scrum framework was adopted. This enabled iterative planning and continuous collaboration with clinical professionals, ensuring both functional and technical alignment of the system with real-world medical needs. The web-based platform was developed with a strong emphasis on usability and accessibility, evaluated through two complementary methods: (1) a usability assessment using the System Usability Scale (SUS), applied to end users, which yielded an average acceptance score of 95.71%; and (2) an accessibility evaluation based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conducted using the WAVE tool, achieving 97.13% compliance across the analyzed pages. The results demonstrate that SIONDAL constitutes an effective, accessible, and user-centered digital solution that enhances the administration, execution, and monitoring of ophthalmologic tests, while reinforcing principles of sustainability, quality, and equity in digital health technology design.
