Abstract
Purpose – This community service initiative aims to enhance digital communication through the optimization of the official website of the Tourism Study Program at Universitas Terbuka. As a new academic program established in 2020, the website is needed to support academic visibility, promotion, and public communication.Design/methodology/approach – The activity included assessing the initial website condition, stakeholder coordination, data collection on academic activities and achievements, content development, and website updates with journal links, social media, and contact information. All activities were carried out collaboratively using a participatory approach.Findings – Previously, the website displayed only basic information. After the program, it included structured content on academic activities, achievements, research, and communication. These improvements enhanced its function as a tool for promotion, transparency, and stakeholder engagement.Originality/value – Website development for academic public communication remains underutilized in many institutions. This activity shows that structured optimization can increase academic visibility, especially in new programs.
