Abstract
Based on the real-time simulation test and research platform for security and stability control technology of the power grid, test and R&D of several stability control systems belonging to three guard lines in China Southern Power Grid were finished. By using the real-time simulation modeling technique of a large AC/DC power grid, the stability control system of Yunnan-Guangdong high-voltage direct current (HVDC) is tested and developed. By using the real-time simulation environment building technique of the wide-area stability control system, the wide-area oscillation splitting control system of Yunnan small hydropower plants is tested and developed. By using the comprehensive coordinating technique for multiple time scale and multiple area stability control, islanded generator-grid coordinated control system of Yunnan-Guangdong ultra-HVDC is simulated and developed, which makes full use of the self-defining function of the platform controller model. Test results show that the proposed platform based on real-time simulation is an effective approach and an important guarantee for the test and research of stability control systems. © 2012 State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Press.
