Case Study: Infections in Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

In BriefAcute care for patients with diabetes varies greatly depending on the nature of the patients’ primary illness and physical condition during hospitalization. The following two case studies review common considerations when treating 1) diabetic patients who develop infections; and 2) hyperglycemic inpatients who have had an acute myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident.
