Abstract

The article discusses the reasons for the low academic achievement of Latino students and the factors that support school success. It introduces the Community Cultural Wealth Model, and offers recommendations for research and practice. It presents data on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and community cultural wealth that Latino students used to overcome obstacles, navigate educational settings and excel academically.
