Abstract
Canis latrans, carnivore, canidae, canid, increase in coyote-human conflict, notably attacks on humans, demonstrates that incidents are not rare in CA. Discuss attacks on 53 humans resulting in 21 injuries over last decade. Predictable pre-attack coyote behavior patterns. Changes in human environmentts and behavior contribute to attacks. Case hitories of attcks. Padded legholds best for removing problem animals and changing behavior.
