125 Te nmr spectra of a number of organotellurium compounds and inorganic tellurium salts are reported. The tellurium shielding has been found to be dependent upon the nature and number of electronegative substituents bonded to tellurium and where applicable, upon the para substituents on the phenyl ring. Possible reasons for the observed broad line widths are discussed.
