Abstract

A 37-years-old female was admitted to our hospital complaining of abdominal pain. A fist-sized soft tumor was palpable in the right lower abdomen and its surface was smooth and mobile. Immediate US and CT examinations led to a diagnosis of intussusception caused by an intestinal tumor. Emergency Surgery was performed. After laparotomy, a mass, which consisted of ascending colon and ileocecum, was revealed. Right hemicolectomy (D2) was performed. The histopathological diagnosis of the specimen was neuroendocrine cell carcinoma of the cecum. A case of advanced colonic neuroendocrine cell carcinoma with intussusception is rare.
