PENINGKATAN DAYA SAING UKM FURNITURE SUMATERA BARAT MELALUI PERANCANGAN APLIKASI BERBANTUAN KOMPUTER

Abstract

Beberapa industri/Usaha Kecil Menengah  (UKM) furniture di Sumatera Barat, hampir sebagian besar masih menggunakan sistem biaya tradisional dalam menghitung harga pokok produksi. Selain itu, UKM furnitur di Sumatera Barat juga masih sedikit dalam memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mempermudah dalam pengolahan data. Di samping itu, pada penelitian lainnya ditemukan bahwa di Indonesia penggunaan teknologi informasi oleh UKM masih rendah dibandingkan perusahaan-perusahaan besar. Padahal dengan penggunaan teknologi informasi dapat meningkatkan daya saing UKM. Banyak hal yang menyebabkan rendahnya penggunaan teknologi informasi oleh UKM. Salah satunya adalah masih rendahnya pengetahuan akan potensi teknologi informasi untuk memajukan bisnis. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya penggunaan teknologi informasi untuk meningkatkan daya saing UKM, dan perlunya penggunaan metode ABC dalam menghitung harga pokok produksi, maka Jurusan Teknik Industri Universitas Andalas memberikan pendampingan, pelatihan, dan pembinaan kepada UKM furniture yang ada di Sumatera Barat. Dengan kegiatan ini akan mempermudah UKM dalam mengelola biaya bahan baku langsung, biaya tenaga kerja langsung, biaya overhead dan menghitung harga pokok produksi berbasis aktivitas serta mempermudah dalam pembuatan laporan harga pokok produksi berbasis aktivitas dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak bantuan komputer, sehingga tercipta daya saing UKM furniture yang lebih tinggi untuk dapat memenangkan persaingan dan tercipta pola kemitraan perguruan tinggi yang lebih baik lagi.Most of the furniture industries / SMEs in West Sumatra still use the traditional cost system in calculating the cost of goods manufactured. Therefore, the importance of using information technology to increase the competitiveness of SMEs, and the need to use the ABC method in calculating the cost of production, the Department of Industrial Engineering, Andalas University provides assistance, training, and coaching to furniture SMEs in West Sumatra. With this activity it will make it easier for SMEs to manage direct raw material costs, direct labor costs, overhead costs and calculate activity-based cost of production as well as make it easier for SMEs to produce activity-based cost of production reports using computer-assisted software, so that SME furniture competitiveness is created. higher level to be able to win the competition and create a better pattern of university partnerships.
