Abstract

At some stage in clinical practice all dental practitioners will encounter patients with disorders of the immune system. It is therefore important that dental practitioners are aware of the potential implications for safe practice. This paper summarises some of the more common immunological disorders that may be encountered, together with a basic review of immunological processes from a clinical perspective. © 2014 Macmillan Publishers Limited.
