Abstract
This article examines the corporate social responsibility as a strategy for governance that can cope more efficiently with the new challenges of globalization and modernization of the state pose to public services, identifying elements that allow state administration to establish processes more efficient interaction with the environment and with the various stakeholders. Corporate social responsibility provides an interesting opportunity for the state institutions to manage efficiently and ethically its relations with the internal and external environment, giving greater importance to the impacts the decisions and actions that implement on the public, through a more transparent and mindful of the interests of civil society in the development of its mission.
