RESUMEN: El autor examina la notable y significativa evolución político-constitu-cional de la República de Colombia en el periodo 1976-2005, con énfasis en el estudio de las vías constitucionales empleadas para la terminación o para el llamado " Des-monte del Frente Nacional " de una parte, y, de otra, presenta, con especial atención el significado y la importancia democrática y social de la Carta Política de 1991 y de sus abundantes desarrollos, la evolución del régimen político constitucional de Colombia en la etapa que llama postconstitucional.
