Abstract

Blockchain has the potential to dislocate trusted business models that are used in present day healthcare systems that perform information sharing. This chapter helps healthcare organizations or communities and politicians to understand the use of Blockchain technology in recognizing various incorporated benefits and risks in healthcare practices. Changing encryption keys is a common practice in healthcare systems and is a common method to avoid malicious, statistical attacks. By using Electronic Health Record systems, medical records and other data can be easily uploaded based on the block size, which is fixed and limited as the data in Blockchain network is raised while performing computational overheads, to protect the storage subject from privacy breaches. On-chain storage is considerably neither economically nor precisely feasible as most of the Blockchain benefits can be used for off-chain storage solutions.
