Pressure dependence of the Curie temperature in the ternary intermetallic compound, MnZnSb, has been investigated in a high pressure region up to 7.5 GPa by monitoring the electric resistance change. Anomalously large increase of Tc with increasing pressure was observed, with the increasing rate of dTj dP=28 K/GPa. This anomalously large positive pressure effect on Tc can be explained by considering the superexchange between Mn-Mn atoms along the c-axis. © 1993 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
