Efficiency analysis of second language acquisition based on mental health of college students and a new teacher-Student relationship

Abstract

Considering the mental health of college students This paper mainly explores the efficiency of second language acquisition based on a new teacher-student relationship. Firstly, a new teacher-student relationship was constructed with features like high teaching quality, efficient communication and positive evaluation. On this basis, the author carried out a questionnaire survey and data analysis to verify if college students on varied English levels differ in self-efficacy and autonomous learning ability of English, and identify the relationship between self-efficacy and autonomous learning ability. A total of 169 non-English majors in second and third grades from colleges and junior colleges were randomly selected for the questionnaire survey, which is based on the General Self-Efficacy Scale and Xu and Peng's Autonomous English Learning Ability Questionnaire. The survey results were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results show that students with better English proficiency have stronger self-efficacy and autonomous English learning ability; self-efficacy has a significant linear positive correlation with autonomous English learning ability and its four dimensions. The research results provide an important reference for the reform of college English education.
