Pola Asuh Keluarga Tradisional Terhadap Pendidikan dan Jodoh Anak Perempuan

Abstract

This article discusses the parenting patterns instilled in traditional families regarding girls' education. What is the attitude of parents to instill understanding, and how much support is there for the sustainability of girls' education levels? The method used in this research is a literature review using a qualitative approach. The analysis used to analyze the data is content analysis. The research results show that traditional families embedded in patriarchal culture make parents less supportive of higher education for girls because women have the nature to take care of matters related to the domestic sector. This vital education for every child is only instilled in modern families with an open mindset. Parents' involvement in choosing a mate is extensive, especially for the first daughter; parents want their child's mate to be the best regarding their religion, economics, and social status. Parents want their children to be happy and not suffer; therefore, parents play a significant role in choosing a mate. Some parents want to match their children and find their children a future husband without their children participating in the search for their soul mate.
