Abstract

The species of the helotrephid genera Limnotrephes Esaki & China, 1928 and Mixotrephes Papáček, Štys & Tonner, 1989 are revised, and the monotypic genus Tiphotrephes Esaki & China, 1928 is treated for comparison. Mixotrephes contains six species: Mixotrephes hoberlandti Papáček, Štys & Tonner, 1989 (type species) from Iran and Afghanistan, M. kumaonis (Polhemus, 1990) comb. n. (Limnotrephes) from Northwest India and Nepal, M. thermophilus (Papáček & Kovac, 2001) comb. n.
