Abstract

We calculate the contribution of baryonic resonances to the differential cross-sections for single pion photoproduction in the backward direction using the quark model. The absence of peaks due to the D13(1520) and the F15(1680), and the presence of I = 32 peaks in photoproduction from protons is explained. Differential cross sections for photoproduction from neutrons are predicted. © 1969.
