Abstract
In recent decades, modern Internet technologies are actively used in the educational process of universities, namely to form a foreign language communicative competence. The purpose of this work is to present a scientifically based methodology for the development of social and cultural competence of students in the field of Linguistics, profile Translation and translation theory of Vyatka State University on the basis of modern Internet technology of the second generation–blog technology, because it affects the effectiveness of intercultural communication. The leading methods in the work are modeling of the educational process, which develops social and cultural skills using blog technology, as well as experimental training, which proved the hypothesis put forward by the authors of the article about the effectiveness of blog technology based on the development of the author's methodology for the development of social and cultural skills. The main results of the research are, first, identifying a number of socio-cultural skills that are formed on the basis of blog technology, secondly, pointing out methodological conditions for the effective development of social and cultural skills, thirdly, developing an algorithm for the development of the above mentioned skills, on the basis of which an experimental training has been conducted. The results of the experimental training showed positive results for all ofthe controlled social and cultural skills, which undoubtedly proves the effectiveness of the methodology developed by the authors. The results of the work will be interesting for teachers who use Internet technologies in teaching a foreign language.
