Abstract

The correct implementation of the nonlinear lattice model is crucial to achieving the design performance in storage rings. We describe here a method for the simultaneous correction of multiple nonlinear resonances based on local resonance measurements and numerical fits of the sextupole components. This method has been applied for the simultaneous correction of two sextupole resonances excited in the Diamond storage ring. The local correction of these resonances has been achieved with unprecedented precision. We also point out that this method has the potential to lead to an effective reconstruction of the local sextupole component errors around the whole ring circumference. © 2008 The American Physical Society.
