This paper aims to develop a software tool through the Matlab® platform which allows students to acquire relevant knowledge about fuzzy logic applied to the industrial control area. Several investigations have proven that the implementation of intelligent algorithms improve the results obtained in processes of parameter optimization, signal processing and pattern recognition, among others. However, these technologies are not widely used due the fact that they have been recently created, and not all of them include a toolbox with intelligent algorithms or technologies are still expensive. The tool presents a methodology guided step by step to facilitate the application of the concepts. Using this tool students can associate the theoretical concepts of fuzzy logic with the industrial reality, which leads to assess their knowledge through the development of study cases with fuzzy logic design. Through a survey, students positively assessed the implementation of this tool.
