We experienced two cases of facial nerve schwannoma. Case 1 was a 55-year-old female who complained of right facial palsy and right otalgia. She was diagnosed as having intratemporal facial nerve schwannoma. Case 2 was a 44 year-old female with mass in the left parotid gland. She was initially diagnosed as having a mixed tumor, but the pathological diagnosis was schwannoma. Patients with intratemporal facial nerve schwannoma usually exhibit gradually developing facial palsy and sometimes recurrent facial palsy; these symptoms are similar to those in Bell's palsy, thus, these patients may be initially misdiagnose as having Bell's palsy. © 1987, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology.
