Abstract

The technique of electroplating graphite powder with metals was studied. It has been found that continuous metal coatings including copper and nickel can be made available on the powder in an intermittent agitating process by the use of a specially located auxiliary cathode in conventional baths. The use of plated graphite powder as additive in microwave absorbing composite material was proposed to improve the attenuation characteristic by adjusting the impedance and forming microwave scattering points in the absorber. © 1994, American Medical Association.
