Cleft lip and palate cases are somewhat academic for most people, with most modern clinicians having very little exposure at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Here, maxillofacial SHO Jiten Parmar gives an account of his experiences with a cleft team on a charity mission to Hyderabad, India. © 2007 Nature Publishing Group.
