TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN ANTUSIAS MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PENGENDALIAN GULA DARAH (PGD) DI DAERAH POSYANDU BOUGENVILL IV KEMILING KOTA BANDAR LAMPUNG TAHUN 2021

Abstract

According to the World Heath Organization (WHO) in 2020 about 422 million people worldwide suffer from diabetes melitus, most of them live in low to middle income countries, and 1.6 million deaths are associated with diabetes melitus each year. Where the prevalence of diabetes mellitus will continue to increase over the last decade. Indonesia is the sixth country in the world after China, India, the United States, Brazil and Mexico. Riskesdas said that the increase in the prevalence rate of diabetes mellitus was quite significant, namely from 6.9% in 2013 to 8.5% in 2018; and then the estimated number of sufferers in Indonesia reaches more than 16 million people. Meanwhile, based on the Lampung Riskesdas report in 2018, 31,462 people were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge and know the enthusiasm of the community about the importance of maintaining health and preventing Diabetes Melitus. The method used in this activity was counseling and checking blood sugar levels to the people who were in the Posyandu in the Kemiling area, especially the Bougenvill IV posyandu. The implementation of the activity was assisted by students of FK Malahayati University in Bandar Lampung on April 5-6, 2021. The result of this activity was an increase in the knowledge and enthusiasm of the community towards blood sugar control (PGD) so that it can be concluded that this counseling is very effective.
