Abstract

When dibutyltin dichloride was administered intraperitoneally to male rats, butyl(3-hydroxybutyl)tin dichloride, butyl (4-hydroxybutyl) tin dichloride, and butyltin trichloride were detected as acid-stable metabolites. The major acid-stable metabolite, butyl(3-hydroxybutyl)tin dichloride, showed a tendency to accumulate in the kidney. Butyl(4-hydroxybutyl)tin dichloride was detected only in urine extracts. Dibutyltin dichloride, butyl(3-hydroxybutyl)tin dichloride, and butyltin trichloride were found in the brain in spite of differences in their relative polarities. © 1989, American Chemical Society.
