Abstract
Data production in a Continuing Health Education workshop focused on professional practices and knowledge about children and adolescents’ eating in peripheral territories. It acknowledges food as a mediator within territorial networks and short food supply chains. The encounter as an important instance to recognize each other’s work/knowledge, valuing popular knowledge, and subverting the nutritionist’s role as the single authority on food and eating. The workshop as an intentional strategy, as well as other unintentional encounters of daily work, invites health professionals to reflect about their practice, initiating changes in the relationship within the team and the territorial network. This motion does not occur without disputes, and does not have easy answers.
