Abstract

With the innovation and advances in technology, the usage of smart cards has grown up rapidly in a wide range of applications including the Internet of Things. Particularly, the smart card facilitates the process of authentication of a legitimate user by the server providing some services. Therefore, smart card security has been a primary concern for the researchers. This article presents an efficient smart card authentication mechanism based on the elliptic curve, which provides all the essential security properties, while simultaneously providing resistance from the threats and attacks made on to the system. Furthermore, the results show that the proposed scheme is time efficient than other related schemes.
