Abstract
This review has presented many of the salient features concerning the structure and biologic properties of fibronectin. It is evident that much progress has been made in the understanding of this protein since it was first identified and that much of the progress has taken place during the past five years. In a field of rapidly evolving knowledge such as this one a review article cannot be expected to remain up to date for very long. It is our hope, however, that this summary will help clarify existing knowledge and will provide a sound basis for evaluating new information.
