Abstract
Quality of work life (QWL) is viewed as one of the most important factors for human motivation and for improving job satisfaction as well. The quality of life at work, whether in the public or private institutions, aims to promote the well-being of employees so that they can carry out their activities with satisfaction and motivation, which can therefore contribute to excellent organizational performance. It is widely acknowledged that higher education is the key to the success of a nation, as it helps to boost the economic potential of the entire nation, and hence, promotes its development. Higher education is also an engine of transformation that produces manpower for industry, develops entrepreneurs, and motivates young minds for Research & Development. This responsibility falls on teachers to better understand the mission assigned to them in order to improve and enhance students' knowledge effectively and efficiently. In this context, many previously conducted studies suggest that quality of work life is one of the most important and effective tools in human resources management. It is noteworthy that the programs of quality of work life encourage teachers to always do better, establish a balance between work, on the one hand, and private and social life, on the other, and improve the level of job satisfaction of all employees. The present work aims primarily to investigate and determine the relationship that could eventually exist between the quality of life at work and job satisfaction among faculty members at the University of Tlemcen (Algeria). This study seeks to highlight the quality of life at work of teachers in various dimensions. Today, the educator may be faced with new challenges that are generally associated with the nature of his teaching mission, the work environment, and the evolution of his career. The investigation carried out in this work focused on several faculties of the University of Tlemcen. The collected data were coded, and then analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science Research (SPSS). Additionally, various statistical tests were applied for validating the hypotheses and for matching variables as well. The findings showed that the quality of work life (QWL) of university teachers does in fact improve the well-being of teachers.
