Abstract
The dependency of the ageing body is often recognised and designated by carers in terms of the degree, seriousness and frequency of the care called for. In this article we show how carers have recourse to several types of action corresponding to a precise ethics of caring. But even if the action is effective, psychological feedback is important for the carer, who is not indifferent to dependency: this is what we call a co-dependency effect between carers and those they care for. Each needs the other; each is in a state of dependency that seemingly exceeds and/or transcends a relationship of reciprocity.
