Abstract

We confirm the presence of the Mexican long-tongued bat (Choeronycteris mexicana) in Chiapas. Five specimens of this bat were captured at 3 sites within the Parque Nacional Cañon del Sumidero and represent the first verified records of the occurrence of C. mexicana in the Chiapas Central Plateau, demonstrating a continuous geographic distribution from Mexico to Central America.
