Student Problems

Abstract

Student discontent is not new. One can find in Turgenev and Flaubert descriptions of studentsʼ plots and attitudes which have a strikingly contemporary flavour. There have been serious student troubles in most countries at one time or another connected with political oppression, or with struggles for national freedom, or with unemployment. What is perhaps new is the strength of discontent in so many countries at the one time.
