Abstract
The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine has been unable to issue grant money it was awarded for stem-cell research due to ongoing legal battles, but it now starting the process of allocating funds to research and training programs. Despite the fact that no money is yet available, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles will soon announce plans for a large new building devoted to stem-cell research. Elsewhere young researchers and senior faculty members are considering moving to California in search of research funds.
