Abstract

This is the first translation of the second “Preface” to The Development of Memory into Portuguese. The text, written in 1932, outlines a brief self-criticism of the authors regarding some ideas of instrumental psychology which based Leontiev’s research supervised by Vygotsky. The authors review topics such as the importance of age in memorization, and the maintenance of the “inferior” in the “superior” forms of memory, offering an important contribution to the study of “memory/memorization”, and “sense”.
