Abstract
Aim: The research was done in order to adapt Family Centred Care Scale (FCCS) to Turkish and to determine its validity and reliability.Materials and Methods: Performed as methodological research, data were collected from 200 mothers in the two hospitals in Konya. As a data pooling tool, children and mothers' information was collected from Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale (NSNS) and FCCS providing the assessment of the level of family-centered care. The materiality and scale consists of seven sections with substance in a Likert-type language validity of the Turkish version performed using translation-back translation technique. Expert opinions were evaluted with content validity index (CVI) and intraclass correlation (ICC) in the content of validity. For the structure validity of the scale, the relationship between the convergent validity method and the NSNSpoints were studied. For the reliability analysises total item corelations and Cronbach alfa reliability coefficient were evaluated. Results: The correlation coefficient were found to have a positive trend regarding FCCS CVI 100% and ICC 0.89 and compatible with NSNS. Total item correlation coefficient was between 0.48 and 0.66 for significance part and between 0.55 and 0.76 consistency part (p<0.05). And it was determined that Cronbach alfa correlation coefficient was 0.70 for significance part and 0.79 for consistency part. There was no statistically significant difference between test-retest points (p>0.05).Conclusion: It has been determined that the Turkish version of Family Centred Care Scale is a valid and reliable instrument to be used in the evaluation of the level of family-centered care by mothers.
