Sangiorgi: The systematization of teaching knowledge in teacher training

Abstract

This article verifies whether Osvaldo Sangiorgi was an expert in teaching mathematics in times of Modern Mathematics. Based on socio-historical research, we analyze pedagogical manuals and articles through the elements: peer recognition; appropriation of educational concepts that circulated at an international level; call by the State to resolve technical problems; systematization of knowledge in the educational field; and circulation of that knowledge. We conclude that Sangiorgi systematized knowledge for teach and to teach regarding mathematics approached as a structure.
