Abstract

Eight N'-(4-X-6-Y-2-pyrimidinyl)-N-[3-(or 4-)pyridinylcarbonyl]thioureas (X = Cl or OH and Y = Me, methoxy, or ethoxy) were synthesized and characterized by IR, 1HNMR, and elementary anal. The preliminary biol. test showed that some of the compds. had excellent inhibitory activities against root and stalk of dicotyledon (such as rape) and a good regulating activity for plant growth of monocotyledon (such as corn).
