Abstract

Investigation of Ni-Al martensite by transmission electron microscopy indicates a normal Ll//0 (CuAuI type) structure instead of the modified type suggested by S. Rosen and J. A. Goebel in 1968. Transformation twins in the martensite were found on the left brace 111 right brace //t less than 112 greater than //t system. The (111)//t left bracket 112 minus right bracket //t twinning modes are briefly considered.
