Abstract
An asynchronous position measurement system was addressed for indoor localization. The system is composed of UWB locator and energy detection reference node whose position is known, which is different from the synchronous-global position systems (SGPS) demanded synchronization between target node and reference node and is also different from the synchronous-hyperbola position systems (SHPS) only demanded synchronization in reference nodes. The proposed system is the asynchronous-elliptical position systems (AEPS). No synchronization mechanism is implemented and the system is simplified. The simulation shows that the position accuracy is better than SHPS and achieves positioning error Cramer-Rao lower bound.
