PERILAKU CUCI TANGAN PAKAI SABUN (CTPS) DAN KEJADIAN PENYAKIT INFEKSI DALAM KELUARGA DI WILAYAH DESA DONOHARJO KABUPATEN SLEMAN

Abstract

Soap Handwashing is useful for clean hands and can kill germs in the hands, and scientifically proven to prevent infectious diseases such as diarrhoea, Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) and Avian Influenza. However, the importance of soap handwashing behaviour to prevent infectious diseases not completely understood and applied in daily life. Source information from Puskesmas Ngaglik II in May 2016 in Donoharjo village, especially on 6 areas of Donoharjo Village which are Donolayan, Jetis Donolayan, Brengosan, Gondang lutung, Kayunan and Ngepas lor, had the high number of URI and diarrhoea and then made as a prioritized area for clean and healthy life behaviour. The purpose of this study to a found correlation of habit of soap handwashing with the incidence of infectious diseases in the family in the village Donoharjo Sleman District Special Region of Yogyakarta. The study used a cross-sectional design. The population were all family in 6 areas of Donoharjo village. Samples are 100 families taken with Proportional cluster random sampling. The research instrument used questionnaires and taken by the door to door. The results of the study shown uncorrelated of soap handwashing with the incidence of infectious diseases in the family (P-Value 0.311, Sig> 0,000) Keywords: Clean and healthy life behavior, handwashing, infectious disease
